Open Mic Night

A performer at the microphone on Cheshire Commons' stage during open mic night

Somewhere in this town, right now, someone is rehearsing three chords in their bedroom, working up the nerve to play them for another human being. This is the night they finally do. Open Mic Night is built on one simple rule: everyone has a story, and this stage belongs to whoever's brave enough to tell it. A retired teacher reads a poem she's carried in a drawer for a decade. A teenager tries stand-up for the first time and, against every odd, kills. A dad sings the song he wrote for his daughter's wedding as a trial run. Sign-ups open at 6:30 at the door, first-come, first-served, and the room is warm and forgiving no matter what you bring up there. Come to perform, or come to be part of the audience that makes it feel safe enough to try. Either way, you're part of the story.
